Birth Story

I will keep this short and will spare most of the weird details,

but here is our birth story for those of you who are interested.

Wednesday night I was having some pretty serious back and belly pain, but not contractions.

I thought my water might have broken earlier in the day, 

so after a quick phone call to a nurse in the hospital, we decided to go in and get checked.

My water had not ruptured, but in the hour or so that it took our nurse to run the tests, 

my contractions started and were less than 2 minutes apart and I had dilated an entire centimeter,

so they decided to keep us.

This was around 11:00 pm at night. 

My contractions started getting a lot stronger and around 4:00 am I asked for my epidural.

Once I was numb, I tried to sleep a little. 

This didn't happen much because Piper kept falling asleep and my nurse would come in and make me roll over about every 20 minutes.

Around 3:30 Thursday afternoon, I was finally fully dilated and ready to push.

She was born at 4:21 and everything went so smoothly! 

Well, except for when Trevor broke the couch in our room! Hahaha

The nurses had to bring in another one :)
