My Baby Essentials

The Bjorn Bouncer

Seriously. I don't know how I would live without this thing! (Thanks mom!)
Piper is in it quite a lot. She loves it!
It just bounces when she moves, which means its really quiet.
Baby Einstein Videos
Piper loves these! They are the perfect little piece of entertainment for her while I'm making dinner
or eating or something. (have I mentioned the girl doesn't sleep much during the day?)
Of course, now I have a constant stream of baby einstein mozart music running through my head.
But really, these videos are a lifesaver!

Aden and Anais Swaddlers
Piper doesn't love being swaddled too often.
I think its because she gets too hot.
I really like these blankets because they aren't very thick and don't make her too hot!

Netflix/Hulu
This girl eats about every hour and a half to two hours.
It takes her at least 30 minutes to nurse.
I get SUPER bored, so I watch a bunch of Netflix.

Kindle

We have a Kindle Touch and a Kindle Fire.
Honestly, I don't know how people lived before eReaders.
I was a huge reader before I got one, but now that I'm nursing and often have my arms full of baby,
I pretty much always have a kindle in my hand.

Body Butter
I'm constantly washing my hands after all the diaper changes.
Body Butter, is my go - to for dry hands in the winter, anyway.
But, it sure helps with all the hand-washing with a baby!
I really like the NuSkin brand and basically anything from the Body Shop.

Crock Pot
Like I've said before, Piper doesn't sleep much during the day.
When she does sleep it is only for about 20-30 minutes.
Every once and a while she will sleep for 2 hours (like today!) and I don't know how to handle it!
I would die without a crock pot! Those little naps are the perfect amount of time to throw a bunch of stuff in a crock pot and just leave it for a few hours.
Its the best!
Either that, or PB&J for dinner every night...

Keep in mind that I don't have the means to try out many products and we don't have a ton of space in our little apartment. These are just the couple of things that I couldn't live without during the first 4 months of Piper's life. Adjusting to a baby is crazy hard. We absolutely LOVE being parents, but we are still often surprised at how much work and time it takes.

So, if you live in a tiny apartment, and have limited funds, that's basically my list of must haves!
(This does not include the obvious diapers, clothes, crib, carseat, etc.)

And just because Piper is adorable....

And, the day my life got a billion times easier (in some ways!), the day she held her bottle for an entire 4 oz feeding!

And, that's the END.

Glad to see you're surviving and finding tricks every mother needs. I just started watching Arrested Development on Netflix while using my treadmill and you were right, it's funny! I'll definitely look forward to my workouts for the next little while.
