Just like most of the talks during the October General Conference,
I loved this one by Elder Ballard.
He spoke on many important topics on how we, as members of the Church,
can stay on the Old Ship Zion.
He talked about the Prophet and Apostles being called of God,
and a bit about the Sabbath day.
My favorite quote in his talk is:
"Another important doctrine that we should cling to is to observe the Sabbath day.
This helps us remain unspotted from the world, provides us with physical rest,
and gives each of us the spiritual refreshment of worshiping the Father and the Son every Sunday.
When we delight in the Sabbath day, it is a sign of our love for Them."
There has been a lot of talk lately about the Sabbath day and keeping it holy.
I find that Sundays are typically the hardest day of the week for me.
I have to balance feeding a little baby, getting ready for church,
entertaining a 3 year old, and doing singing time in primary.
By the time we get home from church, I'm spent...
But there is still more to do.
I've been feeling like my Sunday's are just a giant to-do list and they are so hard.
So I'm making a point to try to spend the rest of my week preparing for Sunday
to make the day easier on me and my whole family.
And to have a more enjoyable day that we can all focus on the Gospel and
the Sacrament.
That's it for this talk... more to come next week.
So far, I'm liking this goal.
Its helping me keep tabs on myself, and helping me put my feelings into words.
Feel free to join in anytime :)
