The Lewis' take St. George - Part 1 - Zion's National Park

We headed to St. George over the weekend on a little family getaway!
It was just what we needed.
Some playing together and a change of scenery!

Friday morning, we headed to Zion's National Park.
It was the perfect day!
We went on a beautiful hike to the Emerald Pools and continued on the Grotto Trail.
It was around 3 miles and little Hayley walked almost the whole way.
She LOVED it!
Piper was full of all sorts of dramatics and kept saying things like,
"This desert is the worst" and "Its just so stinking hot"
to every single person we passed on the trail.

After the short walk to the Weeping Rock, we could tell both girls were ready to crash.
We had a quick lunch and then drove up through the tunnels in the park.
Its a fun drive if you haven't done it before!

Then we were on our way back to the hotel for some swimming!

I thought it would be easier to split our trip into 2 posts, so be on the lookout for
PART 2 tomorrow or Thursday sometime.

Zoo Lights

Last week, before the zoo lights ended,
we decided to take a little family date up to the Hogle Zoo.
It was SUPER cold, but we had lots of fun!
We got there just after it opened, so it wasn't too crowded.

The lights were fun to see,
but we mostly loved seeing the animals that are up at night.
I've never seen a tiger up walking around before.
They are so big and it was so cool!
Hayley LOVED it!
Piper cried most of the time. haha

We would for sure recommend this to other little families.
It was a fun way to enjoy some of the zoo for much cheaper.

a little about us

Like I said a few posts back, I'm getting quite a bit more traffic around here. So I thought I'd do a little introduction for anyone who doesn't know us very well.

We are the Lewis family! A little family of 4 (plus one angle baby) living in Utah!

Trevor works in IT and is finishing up a degree in IT Management. He also plays bass trombone and loves golf and biking. He loves all the Marvel Heroes. Actually, let me rephrase that. He's obsessed with the Marvel Heroes. Whenever we see one of the movies and I ask a simple question like, "Who is that guy" he jumps into the entire story line. haha! Trevor likes computers, that's why he is studying IT- management. He's built a few from scratch and enjoys learning all he can about different programs and products.

Rebecca (I'm the one who writes here) studied History at BYU and is a violin teacher in the area. I love cafe rio, reading books, and rollercoasters! I really enjoy crafting, especially crochet. I hate cooking more than just about anything, but I'm starting to want to get back into it. Its been freezer meals or grilled chicken for us for a few months now, I'm ashamed to admit. So, send me your favorite recipes. I need ideas! I love the beach and sunshine, but I can't stand bugs or the snow.

Piper is our almost 4-year old. She's spunky and wild and independent (read: never listens to a word anyone says to her. haha!) But she's the greatest and says some pretty funny stuff all the time. Her favorite foods are brownies and spaghetti. She loves to stamp and color and play outside.

And Hayley is our baby girl. She's almost one (I'm crying about it.) and is pretty silly. She loves little animals and playing with her sister. Hayley is our little fishy. She LOVES the water so much! She is very independent and loves to explore all over our house. I feel like I'm always looking for her. She's almost walking and is the sweetest. She gives the best little hugs and kisses.

As a family, we enjoy going on little hikes and bike rides together. We enjoy movies and reading books all together when we can. And we are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS).

We don't always have tons of time to play together because of Trevor's odd work schedule and school schedule, but we make the most of the little time that we do have!

Keep in touch with us! We love hearing from our friends and everyone!

And just in case all the hits on my blog are just from Grandma, LOVE YOU! ha ha ha!
