TREVOR IS GRADUATING!

I seriously cannot begin to tell you how excited we are about Trevor finishing school!
This has been a long road for us,
mostly due to many of our own mistakes and not great choices.
And really, balancing working full-time, full-time school,
kids, new babies, new homes, shoulder surgery, losing babies,
and all the other chaos that the last 8 years of our marriage
have brought to our lives.
It really has been adventurous for us!

I'm so excited for him!
He's so excited and relieved!
We both have some projects and new goals that we would like to
accomplish now that we have a little (A LOT) more free time.
Or at least a lot more guilt-free free time.

But really, I'm so beyond proud of you Trevor!
This has not been an easy road and it really has been a team effort!

Little Updates: Trevor and Rebecca - Nov and Dec 2017

Life has been so fun and crazy for us lately!
I've been super busy working for Chatbooks and teaching violin lessons.
Piper and Hayley keep me pretty busy too! haha
But they've been getting along and playing so well lately,
it's awesome!

Trevor started a new job a few weeks ago!
I know! I swear I did just post about his woodworking job,
but now we've moved on again!
And this is such a great move!
He's working downtown SLC for a bank.
The commute is long, and the days seem really long
at home without him.
But we are all adjusting and are SO happy with the new job
and new company!

Because of his new job, Trevor has now joined the iPhone family.
It has been another transition for sure, but he's getting used to it.
haha

We both had birthdays in November!
Nothing super exciting, it has just been SO busy. haha
But the kids love celebrating and we love being together.

We are doing really well!
I'm so happy for Trevor and we feel so blessed!
This new job is such a blessing.
An answer to SO many prayers!
We are both filled with so much gratitude!

Little Update: Trevor and Rebecca

Life for us has been crazy and fun lately!
Trevor actually started a new job a few weeks ago.
He's working at a wood shop building custom doors.
There are SO pretty!
Check it out here

He's working hard on finishing up school!
Just a few more weeks left in this semester
and we are trying SO hard to finish these
last few classes before it ends!

I've been busy with a handful of things.
My girls, violin, life, and everything.
I was recently called as the Young Women Beehive Adviser
which has been SUPER fun!

And just today, I got a new job that I'm super excited about!
Its only seasonal, but I'm really hoping it can continue longer!
Its with Chatbooks, my favorite company EVER!
Seriously though. I've been getting my own chatbooks for ages!

We are having fun as usual.
We can't wait for school to be finished for Trevor,
and hopefully a higher paying job will follow!
Life sure is busy, but we are happy and finding ways to have fun!

That's about it from us!
Can't wait to show you all some of the other fun things
we are working on!

Little Update

We have been enjoying our last few weeks of summer!
I took a week off of teaching and enjoyed getting (mostly) caught up on some house work
and working on a few projects.
We had some fun playdates with a few of our neighbors
and some friends from Oak Hills.
SO MUCH FUN!

We also went swimming at Grandma Bonne's.
Well, I sat out and let Trevor jump in this time.
I think he's still a little mad that I didn't get in the pool.
Oh well! ;)

Sadly, we had a little accident.
Hayley got stuck on her back in her puddle jumper.
I've NEVER seen her get stuck like that before. It was so weird.
She started struggling and Trevor had to jump in quickly.
His phone was in his pocket.... Such a bummer.
We found a replacement phone for now (thanks grandpa!)
But I know he's sad. We tried rice and a few other things,
but we could not revive his poor phone.

Hayley had a bit of a crash too.
The girls bumped heads really hard and she has a little black eye.
Its hard to see in the picture above... and it for sure looked a lot worse today.
Poor girl!

We also had Piper's Kindergarten interview this week.
She went in to meet her new teacher, who is the sweetest EVER
and they talked about lots of things she knows and loves.
It was fun for me to watch her with her teacher and see that relationship start.
I'm so excited for her to start Kindergarten!
I think she is going to love it and do really well!

Hayley is really keeping me on my toes these days.
She's a bit of a climber, which is really new territory for me.
Piper never really figured that out.
Its a bit wild and busy and fun, but mostly chaos. haha

And lastly, I started my fall violin lessons this week.
I'm really loving all my sweet students and am excited for a few new things
that are happening this fall.
Its also been fun to have a new babysitter.
She's so sweet and my girls just LOVE her!
And I really love the extra help!

Job Update

Well....
Trevor ended up resigning from that job.
only 2 days in.
Without going into all the details,
it wasn't a good fit and turned out to be nothing like
he thought it would be.
Bit of a bummer,
but we have faith that something will work out for us
and it will be amazing!

I was also offered a job.
A photography job.
It would've been so fun,
but I turned it down as well.
I really love teaching violin and
I can't do both violin and the big photography job
at the same time, and still be the kind of mom
that I want to be.

Its been a really, really long few weeks.
Wonderful, challenging, busy few weeks.

It feels like we are at a cross-roads and I can't wait
to see where the next few months take us.

NEW JOB!

Guy! I'm so excited about this!
Trevor was offered a position with a company called Project 30.
I don't want to get into all the details of this new job,
but it came quickly and seems to have a lot of potential for him and our family.
We are thrilled!
He starts Monday! GAH!
Its going to be so great for him and he will still finish school.
(Only 8 classes left!)

I'm a bit nervous for him to go back to work.
We are used to having him around, even if he is working on school.
It will be an adjustment for all of us.
I'm mostly anxious about violin lessons, since my awesome babysitter
is also moving to Seattle in a few weeks.

We've had so much help from our family and friends over the last 9 months
while Trevor has been focusing on school and not working.
We can't thank you all enough!
Seriously!
We have the best friends and family in the world!

We are really excited for this next chapter of our lives
and can't wait to see where this new path takes us.

(And for all our neighbors, and violin students, don't worry!
We won't be moving anytime soon!)

halloween 2016

Aren't we just the cutest?!?! Hahaha
I just love that there's a picture of the 4 of us.
We got a tripod a few weeks ago and finally pulled it out.
I can't believe that Hayley is looking at the camera!!!!
Its not the best angle or photo, but I'm calling this a BIG WIN!

And this is just proof of how hard it was to get pictures of our
little Hayley-Anna monster!

But she's so sweet!
I wish she would've left her little bow/headband on.
but that's OK!
She's such a cutie and I just LOVE her so much sometimes!

And there's my sweet Elsa!
We borrowed the wig from a friend, threw on some blue eyeshadow,
a little pink lips, and some extra glitter for fun.
She LOVED it!

Just a few selfies too!
I was a kitty and Trevor was Prince Charming!

We took the girls trick or treating for a bit last night.
Piper ran off and had a blast.
Hayley wasn't sure.
We handed her a pumpkin bucket, and she wasn't even a little interested.
But, after we went to the first house and someone put a piece of candy in it,
she wouldn't let go of that bucket for even a second! haha

We had such a fun Halloween and hope you all did too!

Little Updates

It sure seems like all I'm doing is posting little life updates around here.
Sorry!
We've had a really busy few weeks, but SO fun!
Piper is loving school and wishes she had it every day
and Hayley is keeping us on our toes.
She sure is busy and silly!

My sister, Madeleine, came and played with us and slept over!
We had so much fun and were so sad to see her go.
I really miss her living closer to us, but we still play often.
My girls LOVE her!

Piper and I have been having so much fun working on halloween crafts.
I wanted to do one every day for the whole month.
Sadly, I burned out really quickly.... and we've only done 4.
and its the 12th. haha
But we have some more coming up soon.
I'll do a special post about that later.

Trevor is working hard on school and is doing really well!
I'm so proud of him!
He's super smart and I know he's going to do great things for us all!

I'm busy with a full violin studio, a little photography business,
and a new venture with my sister!
(More on that coming this week!)
Its crazy and fun and lots and lots of work.
Sometimes I feel like I'm barely keeping up,
but we are getting used to our new schedules and
we always find ways to have fun.

Father's Day

These pictures cracked me up today!
I have some pretty silly people and I love them SO much!

We had a fun day celebrating our Dad!
He's one of the greatest and we are so glad we have him!
We had a yummy dinner, watched some movies, and ate
a bunch of brownies!

I think it was a pretty good day!

little Daddy's girl

Little Hayley is OBSESSED with Trevor.
She is so much happier when he's at home
and just lights up whenever he looks at her.
In fact, whenever she can see him and he's not looking at her,
she's crying.
If he walks out of the room, she starts crying.

It makes my mommy heart explode.
He couldn't hold her for a long time because of his shoulder,
so watching their relationship grow has been such a joy.

And she's basically the cutest baby ever!

my Trevor

Check this guy out!!
He hasn't been able to do this unassisted for 6 months!
I'm so proud of him!
Physical Therapy has been so hard and recovering from surgery is never easy,
but now he's on his last month of therapy and is looking awesome!

We are so grateful for his awesome doctors and that he is getting better!
Its been a really hard few months for us.
I really don't recommend shoulder injuries and surgery with a new little baby.
We have really learned patience and all that.
Mostly, I'm just glad that the worst of it is over!!
And now he can do things like pick up Hayley and do some dishes!
He will still need to keep up with his exercises and work on getting stronger,
but he's much, much better than I've seen him in a LONG time!

Hooray!

Trevor's Birthday!

Saturday was Trevor's Birthday!
We didn't do too much because he was still pretty medicated from his surgery,
but I think it was still a fun day!

We left the house for the first time in DAYS.
and shopped around for a bit and got lunch at 5 Guys.
(Piper calls it "the guy place." It took me f o r e v e r  to figure out what she was
talking about the first time! haha)

And we had a pretty mellow dinner with some cake and a few presents after.
Like I said, super low-key.
But it had been a long week and we were all exhausted.
It wasn't exciting, but I don't think he will ever forget it!

Next year, we are doing something FUN!
Seriously fun!
Like, I'm talking DISNEYLAND fun! haha

We will see!
But here are some pictures:

Trevor is the best!
He always makes us all laugh!
Even when he feels crummy.
He works so hard for us and is just awesome.
I love him and am so glad that he was born!

Happy, Happy Birthday!!!

In other news, one year ago, we found out Hayley was coming...
and 4 (!!!!!) years ago we found out Piper was coming.
We have pretty good timing I guess. haha!
I can't believe how fast time is flying by!

Surgery

On Monday morning, bright and early,
Trevor had his shoulder surgery.
Everything went smoothly, but they needed to do a bit more
than we originally thought.
His surgeon repaired his labrum tear, removed a bunch of inflamed tissue,
and shaved down the top of his rotator cuff bone.

After running the girls to where they needed to go,
pre-school and Lizzy's house,
I got to the hospital to be there with Trevor once he was out of
post-op.
We packed him up and took him to his mom's house,
where he has spent the last 2 days.
We've been over visiting and helping during the afternoons.
Poor Hayley has really had her world turned up-side-down
after our trip to St. George and having not been home much.

I will be picking him up tomorrow and bringing him home,
so that will be good.

So far, he's doing better than I expected.
He's in pain and pretty tired, but he's being awesome.
Its a lot to take care of someone in a giant sling and big ice pack.
He can't really move around well, but he's getting better.

And he's cute!

We've spent some time watching movies and spending some time
just being together.

I"m excited to bring him home, but I know its going to be a crazy little while for us.
He will be in his sling at ALL times until about Christmas,
and then he will have about 6 months of physical therapy.
Its a LONG road, but I think he's going to make a great recovery!

If anyone wants to come visit,
I'm sure he would love a visitor or two.

Wish us luck!

happy halloween!

From our house, to yours!

Not my favorite holiday, but we're making the best of it!
Piper is the cutest princess ever and Trevor is one handsome prince Charming!
Got the idea for him to be Napoleon Bonaparte after we bought his costume.
Bummer. Wish we'd thought of that sooner. Would've made something fun with his arm.

Update on his arm... it is still really painful for him all the time.
Really painful.
We went back to his orthopedic surgeon this week.
He got a steroid shot and will continue with a week or 2 of physical therapy.
If there continues to be no improvement, we are going to go ahead with surgery.
We just want to get something worked out before the end of the year since we hit our
insurance deductible with the baby and all that.
And, you know... we are getting really tired of him being out of commission.
I've basically let everything fall away except keeping people alive and fed.
It is just too much for one person to handle alone...
Poor guy can barely even hold his new baby. :(
Any extra prayers our way would be super nice.
We could use all the help we can get!
Seriously.
Come do some dishes.
Or vacuum.
I will not turn you away. haha!

Really though, things are fine!
The girls are great, even when things are hard.
Having 2 kids is lots harder than I anticipated and I'm pretty exhausted.
But we are doing great!

And... I went off there for a bit. Sorry.

Happy, happy Halloween!
Have fun playing!
We will be busy tomorrow afternoon and then going on a little
trick-or-treating
then hopefully early bedtimes for all of us!

mini golf

Since Trevor works weekends,
we try to take advantage of the days that he is home and play.
Its nice, too because its not a Saturday, so we usually don't have to deal with any
crowds. :)

This week, we went mini-golfing.
It was Piper's first time,
well, Hayley's too!

 We had a blast!
I was really impressed with how well Piper caught onto most of the rules
and she was getting pretty good near the last hole!

Love my girls!

It was so fun!

Trevor has been working crazy hours the last few weeks
to cover some extra shifts.
Its been hard on all of us.
This is (hopefully) his last crazy 60 hour week for a while.
The extra money is really, really nice
but we are sure missing having him around!

And in case you are wondering...
He's getting some good range of motion and some strength back in his shoulder.
We think the physical therapy is going to take care of it for now.
Hooray!
I'm praying he will be back to mostly normal by Christmas!
I sure do miss having a husband with two working arms.
haha

That's about it from these parts.
Just normal, crazy, busy lives with 2 kids keeping us on our toes!

a trevor update.

So, if you saw this picture in my last post:

You're probably a little curious why Trevor is in a sling.

Basically, he tore his Labrum. Its a tendon in the shoulder.
We don't know exactly when it happened, but its been a few weeks.
He had an MRI last week to determine if he would need surgery,
and thankfully he doesn't yet.
He will do some physical therapy and go in for another scan in a month.
If there hasn't been any improvement, he might need it surgically repaired.
We are really praying that doesn't happen.

Poor guy is in a lot of pain, but he's a trooper!
He's helping with Hayley when he can, but its hard for him to do much one handed.
I'm hoping we can get him feeling better super soon!

st. george

We decided, kinda last minute, to take a little trip down to St. George UT
last weekend.
We found a great deal on a hotel down there and 2 nights was perfect for us.
We drove down Sunday after church and came back Tuesday.
We went to Snow Canyon Tuesday morning with Grandpa
and went on a little hike with the girls.
We enjoyed swimming at our hotel and our Aunt and Uncle's house.
It was a TON of fun!
And the girls were so awesome!
Piper was a total blast to be around and Hayley was a trooper eating and sleeping on the go!

Here's some pictures:

Kolob Canyon (above)
We drove up the canyon on our way back home.
Trevor and Hayley slept through most of it
and Piper doesn't have much appreciation for big red rocks :)
so I enjoyed it by myself haha!

The St. George Temple.
It was SO hot while we were there... Piper was a mess. Poor girl!
But it sure is gorgeous!
And that blue sky is amazing!

Our smiley babe!
She rocked this trip!
She was pretty hysterical on the last hour or so of driving
because she was SO sick of her car seat,
but the rest of the time, she was awesome!

Climbing a petrified sand dune in Snow Canyon.

Hayley and I had lots of extra snuggle time on the trip.
She LOVES being carried in the bjorn,
And I love having her so close!

Piper building sand castles with Grandpa.
Grandpa Richard came down last minute, too!
We loved spending Monday with him!
And he was a TON of help with Piper when she got tired on our hike.

Because:

Trevor is a bit out of commission (note the sling...)
...more on that later...

That's us in snow canyon!
Check out those white mountains and the black and red rocks!
Its such an interesting place!
And lots cheaper than Zion... and WAY less crowded!
We were so glad we decided to go there instead!

My wide-eyed beauty!
I can't get enough of this little girl!
She's smiling lots more and "talking" and its a blast!
Piper loves it too!

Piper on top of the sand dune we climbed.
She carried her "sand tools" all over that place haha!

It was such a great trip!
And we really needed it!
I think it was so good for the 4 of us to escape real life for a few days
and just explore on our own for a bit.

Southern Utah sure is pretty!
I for one, can't wait to go back sometime soon!

And my new favorite video of Piper:

Happy Weekend!!
We are off to the annual Nu Skin Lagoon party tomorrow evening,
so look forward to that too!
