28 weeks!

We are getting close, but it still feels so far away!
I'm finally in the third trimester and other than some braxton hicks
starting up, and a pretty sore back and belly,
I'm feeling pretty good.
It feels like I'm getting bigger every day,
and I'm pretty sure I am.
This little girl is super wiggly, just like Piper was.
Thankfully, she's a bit lower than Piper was, so I'm not getting
kicked in the ribs as much.
I, for one, am just so grateful that the throwing up finally stopped.

Right now, I'm just counting down the days until I get to see her little face!
We are working on potty training with Piper and trying to have her
understand a little more about life with little babies.
We have lots of silly conversations about what new tiny babies do;
how they don't talk, walk, don't have any teeth, sleep and cry lots,
the usual.
She's very interested and excited and always wants to check on the baby in
my belly.
I get a "Doctor Piper" check up almost every day.

Just about 12 weeks until she comes!
Hooray!

My 1st Trimester Survival Guide

Well, now that I've been through the first trimester of pregnancy 3 times,
I consider myself a sort of expert on the subject..
Especially because this time I kinda feel like I figured it out.
As in, how to deal with all the crummy things that come with the first few months
of pregnancy, while having a full violin studio,
and a very busy (and adorable) two year old.

Here's the quick background on my first 2 pregnancies:
With Piper, I was pretty nauseous the entire first few months,
but I was only really sick a few times.
I was, however, super tired.
Since, at the time I didn't have a kid, and my job was flexible,
and I wasn't in school,
I just slept and did whatever I needed to survive.

With our little boy,
I was dying.
I don't remember ever feeling worse.
I could barely keep down any food for days on end.
It was rough.
And Piper was still pretty little and not very independent.
It was a tough few months on me and our little family.

This time around, I was pretty sick.
In fact, I knew I was pregnant before I was even able to take a test.
The nausea hit me fast and hard.
I got drugs (the good ones) and was trying everything I could think of.
I just didn't want a repeat of the last pregnancy.
So, I did some research...
I replaced drinking straight water with Gatorade or Crystal Light.
(Plain water made me SO SICK!)
And I went completely off sugar.
The first day I was off sugar I didn't throw up once.
It was like a miracle!
And while it wasn't fool proof, I am convinced that's what saved me.
I still had some really rough days, and I hardly ever made it to church to do singing time,
but it was so much better than last time!

So, if you find yourself pregnant and dying of morning (all-day) sickness.
Take sugar out of your diet.
It worked wonders for me!
And it was rough. All I want when I'm pregnant is sweets!
And its was Christmas!! So hard to stay away from all the goodies,
but it was worth it!

Other things I recommend,
Keep a stock-pile of Fresca or Sprite on hand at all times.
Saltines or crackers FIRST THING in the morning
And don't rush to get out of bed!
Stop drinking at least 2 hours before going to sleep
(This helps with the whole waking up every 2 hours to go to the bathroom thing haha)
Have a support system, especially some people who can watch kids when you need a break.
Take naps. You're tired because you're growing a tiny human.
Sleep when you can! You need it!
(This also potentially keeps away some of the emotional breakdowns. haha)

And that's about it!
It was just so wonderful to find something that worked for me,
so I had to share!
Pregnancy is a wonderful thing,
but it can be really difficult!

And we're getting big FAST this time!
This was a 2 weeks ago!
Check out that bump!
At this rate, I won't be able to see my feet in a matter of weeks instead of months.
ha ha!

Thanks everyone for all the love!
We are seriously SO excited!!

Our Little News

Just in case  you're not on instagram or Facebook,
I thought I'd post this here!

We are having another baby! Hooray!

I'm a little over 3 months along (13 weeks about)
and am doing well.
Much, much better than my last pregnancy.
Seriously so much better, but still very sick.

We are soooo excited to bring another little one into our lives!
Piper is thrilled too!
She is convinced she's getting a baby sister, and she's pretty sure
she has a baby in her belly too.
haha!

I guess this explains my recent absence from life.
haha!
I haven't been blogging much, or going out much,
or taking many pictures.
Whenever Piper is sleeping, I'm sleeping
and laying down and resting.
That's why things have been slow around here.
But, thankfully, my energy is coming back and things are good!

And that's about it!

on feeling normal

Being pregnant with a toddler at home has been much harder than I ever anticipated.
I crash at about 2:00 every afternoon, and if I'm not in bed around 10:00 pm
I am a complete mess the next day.

Thankfully, the sick feelings are gone and I can function much better than I was able to those first few months.
But I've still felt so off my game for the last few weeks.
I haven't felt like I've been able to keep up with much of anything.
There is laundry EVERYWHERE! haha

But, on Monday of this week, things got better.
Much better.
I've actually been able to keep up with Piper, cleaning, all my violin lessons,
and other things I've been feeling behind on.
Its nice to feel more in control again and not so icky.

We are getting close to seeing our new baby!
I'm so excited to see his/her little profile and tiny fingers and legs.
Not to mention, we get to find out if it is a boy or a girl!
We are pretty sure that its a girl, but we would be so happy either way.
I've been feeling the new baby wiggle a bunch lately, which is easily the best part!
I can't wait until the babe is bigger and Trevor and Piper can feel kicks and rolls.
Its just so fun!

Its been so nice to have a few days feeling good!
I think sometimes people forget how weird women can feel when they are pregnant.
Hope this "normal" phase lasts longer than just this week.

I can't get over how fast this baby is growing!
She's just SO big and says so many things!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
