Piper is 3!!

Our little Piper is 3!
And not so little anymore!

She loves spaghetti, cafe rio, and salads.
Her favorite show is octonauts
(she won't watch anything else!)
She loves to play in the water and to be with her friends.

She is sassy and bossy and hilarious!
She constantly makes us laugh and we are always amazed at
how many words she knows.
She really keeps us on our toes, but we wouldn't change a thing!

And here are a couple of videos of our silly girl!

We sure love this girl and love the person that she is growing up to be!

I can't believe my baby is 3 years old!!
How in the world did that happen!!!

4th of July

Our 4th of July weekend was super fun!
Except for all the false/early labor stuff I went through.

We got Piper a scooter (an early present from her baby sister!)
And she loves it!
She isn't a pro yet, but she's getting better every time!
I"m excited to have her scoot along with me and the baby in the stroller
when she finally shows her little face!

We woke up super early (5:30) to take Piper to see the hot air balloons on Saturday
morning!
Sadly, they didn't launch because of the wind, but they still blew up a bunch!
She LOVED it!
It was really cool!
Trevor and I hadn't ever been, and I think it might be a fun family tradition.

We came home and all enjoyed some nice, long naps!
And some yummy patriotic waffles for dinner!

Then around 9:30, we woke up Piper again to go watch the fireworks!
We walked down the hill just below the temple and had a great view of the
Stadium of Fire fireworks show!
Piper kept telling us they looked "So beautiful!" and that they sounded
"Like popcorn and thunder!"

It was a great weekend!!
I love summer!
The warm nights and tons of family time!
Hooray!!

family of 3 aquarium trip

Well, we are really down to the last few weeks as a family of 3!
Crazy!
So, since the next few weekends are busy prepping for life and
with family and holidays, we decided to do something a bit extra
special this past weekend and headed to the aquarium.
Piper LOVES the ocean and fish and always asks to go to the aquarium with Trevor.

We had a blast! It wasn't too crowded for a Saturday and I found every bench in the place
to sit on.

It sure was fun!
I just wish it wasn't so darn expensive :)

Now we are looking forward to a fun Fourth of July weekend!
And hopefully a new baby soon!
(possibly sooner than we think... with all the contractions and cramps I've had today. haha)

Trevor's new job is really working out!
Piper and I sure do love having him home more and he likes the shorter commute.
This is my last official week of teaching until the fall! Hooray!
Thankfully the last few weeks have gone by pretty quickly.
This pregnancy will be over before I know it!
And thank goodness for that :)

First weeks of June!

These first few weeks of June have been a blast!
We've had so many fun playdates, parties, and fun with family!
I'm gonna let these pictures speak for themselves :)

We are looking forward to another busy few weeks ahead!
Just about 6 weeks until our new baby arrives!
So much to do, I can't help but feel a bit overwhelmed.
But we have lots of help and its fun work to get ready for a baby!
If only I didn't ache so much all over...

I sure love my little family and am so blessed to have them!
Trevor started a new job at the beginning of the month and is home a lot more.
Its magical!

sweet pictures

This girl!!
Sometimes I can't get enough of her and all the fun we have!
She seriously NEVER stops talking, and while I get tired of listening,
she says the funniest things ALL the time.

She really knows how to push my buttons though.
We end up in lots of time outs, and she has had so many things taken away.
She is quite the negotiator and I feel like we are constantly arguing about something.

My little Piper is almost 3.
I can't believe how fast these years have flown by!
She is such a joy!

Payson, UT Temple

Last Week, Piper and I picked up Kathryn and her little Ashley
and headed down to Payson, UT to see the new temple.
It was such a gorgeous morning and turned out to be the perfect day!
We didn't have tickets, but had heard that they were letting people in
anyway, so we decided to give it a good shot!
It is such a beautiful temple!
I loved being able to tell Piper about the different rooms and she seemed to enjoy
being there!
She LOVED wearing the little shoe covers and made as much noise as she
could walking around the hallways.

Thankfully the rain stayed away while we were there.
It was such a great way to spend our morning!

Piper and the Temple

I think I've mentioned before, but Piper loves to talk about the temple.
And I love to talk about it with her.
Usually we end up chatting about her getting married or something along those lines,
but the other day we  had the cutest conversation about it.

We were driving past the Temple and she said,
"Mom, can we go inside and see Jesus."
I said, "Well, not today honey. When you're a little older."
And she replied, "We could just yell really loud and maybe He will come out and
chat with us!"

So sweet!!
I sometimes feel like all the little FHE lessons I try and do and that
the things I try to teach her go completely over her head,
but apparently some of it is sticking!
She sure loves seeing the temple everyday and I love being able to teach
her how special the temple is.

I love the Temple. If you want to learn more about LDS temples, go here!

Mother's Day

I had such a wonderful Mother's Day surrounded by the people I love.

And we got to skype with Carly! Hooray!

But, my favorite part of the day was when Piper yelled down the stairs to me,
"Mom we love you and got you the biggest present in the world!"
And at the end of the night, she gave me a big hug and whispered,
"Happy Mother's Day, Mom."

Such a sweetheart and I sure am lucky to be her mom!

I love all my babies and can't wait to meet our newest one soon!

family changes

That sweet little face is giving me quite a run for my money these days.
She's pretty much off the nap, which is fine most days,
but sometimes that break is what saves me.
She has a lot of attitude and can be a bit mean and bossy.
But she is also hilarious!

I think that the best thing about having a 2-year old is all the singing.
Piper is constantly making up songs, most of them I can't understand,
but its awesome to have a little singing buddy!

I am realizing more and more the huge shock that is coming to our family
in just a few short months.
I'm so excited to have a new baby, but it will be a big change.
We will have 2 little girls.
Our hands will be so full and it will be amazing!

So much to do and only a few months left!
And sooo many little baby hiccups
and super hard kicks!
We've got another really wiggly one coming our way!
I'm excited, but it makes sleeping at night tricky,
and makes for an extra sore belly.
But I kinda love it!

Bring it on 3rd trimester!
Let's do this!!!

Sorry to do to Piper posts in a row,
but this was just too funny not to share!

On Sunday morning, before church,
Piper was doing this silly game.
She was announcing herself and then giving little performances.
Trevor was lucky enough to be there the whole time,
but I only caught the end of it!

We were laughing so hard!

Here's a little video of what she was doing:

and yes... I'm terrible and had video footage of me lying to my own child.
But if I told her what I was doing, she would've stopped.
Totally worth it!

She has a fun imagination and just always makes us laugh!

Silly Piper Sayings

Piper is a very verbal little girl.
As in, she NEVER stops talking.
She always has something to say to everyone :)

(photo from keala from a while ago, but I just LOVE it!)

A few weeks ago, we were on a walk and she turned to me and said,
"It is so yummy out here, Mom"
I loved that she was trying to describe the day, and those are the words she used.
That same day, she asked, "Can we have a date out here?"

She was playing with her Easter eggs the other day, pretending little chicks and
baby penguins were escaping and that she needed to catch them all.
She ran down the stairs after one, and yelled,
"I'll catch you, you little punk!"

Trevor came to get in the car for church one Sunday.
Piper said, "You look a little handsome.. for a boy."
hahaha that had me laughing for a while!

And a little bit ago, we were playing at the park.
Piper was helping another little girl climb the stairs and go down the slides.
The little girl was probably just over a year old, so she didn't talk much.
I asked Piper what the baby's name was and she said,
"I don't know her name. I'll just call her ravioli."
And she called the little girl "ravioli" the rest of the time we were there.
So funny!!

I'm trying to be good about writing all of these things down
and sometimes they are too funny not to share!

These days, Piper is obsessed with:
trains
Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood
Basketball/Football games
jumping. she never stops.
The Bruno Mars song: Uptown Funk.
(We listen to it constantly and she sings along and it is HILARIOUS!)
ravioli (obviously.)

She's getting really excited to meet her baby sister.
She likes to talk to her in the mornings and its adorable!
(16 weeks to go until we see her little face!!!)

Here are a couple of silly videos for fun!

Hoppy Easter!

We are looking forward to this Easter weekend!

I love this time of year when we get to celebrate and remember Christ and His amazing
sacrifice for all of us!
If you haven't seen the LDS Church's new video check it out here.

We will be spending our weekend with family and enjoying the sunshine!
I'm really looking forward to listening to our prophets speak!

life lately

Well, Trevor pointed out that I hadn't posted in a while.
So, I guess its about time. haha

We've had a fun few weeks together!
Just being pregnant, working, school, teaching, and enjoying the amazing
spring weather we've been having lately!
We've been outside so much that I think Piper has forgotten
how to play inside. haha

We had a fun neighborhood easter egg hunt over the weekend.
Piper loved it!
And we had a ton of fun just playing outside in the sunshine.

In other news, we've had some car trouble lately.
Its been tricky to figure out what to do exactly,
but things are looking good.

Baby girl and I are past half way now and are doing great!
She's super wiggly and I'm feeling lots and lots better.
I still have tired days, and I'm pretty sore, but at least the throwing up stopped.
We can't wait to meet our baby girl!
17 weeks to go! Hopefully less :)

And that's about it from our neck of the woods!

Silly Piper sayings

Just the other day, Piper played me a song on the piano,
and then said, "clap for me and say good job piper."
Just being her typically demanding self :)

The other day, during some clean-up time,
I asked Piper to do something and she said,
"but I'm the princess mom."
Thankfully she still did it, but it made me laugh!

she pretends to throw up in the toilet most days...
like mommy... and she always gets up and says
"oh phew! I feel better now."  you can guess how this pregnancy is going...

She's one funny girl!
She doesn't get to see her daddy very often because
of his long work hours and school hours,
so she LOVES it!
Here's a little video of them from the other night:
