Jan 28-Feb 4

The girls and I had quite the week!
We went to the zoo with some of my friends from my Color Me Mine working days.
It was so fun to reconnect with those girls and meet their cute babies!
Hayley was a stinker and cried most of the time, but we still had so much fun!

We also jumped on every trampoline over at HangTime.
The girls and I both loved that place!
We will need to go again sometime soon.

Most of the chaos happened on Thursday.
They destroyed everything!
It was such a disaster and it was so exhausting.
But we recovered and are having fun like usual!

We enjoyed a nice Stake Conference on Sunday morning.
The girls were super good!
I'm loving watching these girls grow up!

We also enjoyed watching The Eagles win the Superbowl!
It was fun!

We are looking forward to another fun week!

In other news, I have decided to take a break from violin teaching.
I'm closing my studio for a little while.
I want to spend my afternoons with my kids
and have some extra freedom with my schedule.
My little girls are growing up fast and I don't want to miss it.

But I hope you all are having a fun week!
Happy February!

Little updates: The Girls - December 2017

The girls have had a fun few weeks!
We've enjoyed lots of play time and some fun family adventures!

They rediscovered our dress ups a few weeks ago.
Its awesome!
They always crack me up!

Piper is finally starting to let me do her hair more.
Even as a little person, she HATED letting me touch her hair.
I'm probably enjoying it more than she is!
And I don't feel like I need to keep cutting it short like I have in the past.

Piper is doing really well in school!
She's actually wanting to read and its fun to learn with her!
She's very bright!
I will never get over picking her up from school.
It is the highlight of my day watching her run as fast as she can to my car!
I just LOVE her!

Hayley is being her usual spunky self!
She has a lot of opinions but she's always cracking us up.
She asks to go to my mom's every day
and is starting to get a lot easier to understand!
Hooray for all of us!

They are having fun and are looking forward to Christmas!
We need to get our letters off to Santa soon!

Little Update

We have been enjoying our last few weeks of summer!
I took a week off of teaching and enjoyed getting (mostly) caught up on some house work
and working on a few projects.
We had some fun playdates with a few of our neighbors
and some friends from Oak Hills.
SO MUCH FUN!

We also went swimming at Grandma Bonne's.
Well, I sat out and let Trevor jump in this time.
I think he's still a little mad that I didn't get in the pool.
Oh well! ;)

Sadly, we had a little accident.
Hayley got stuck on her back in her puddle jumper.
I've NEVER seen her get stuck like that before. It was so weird.
She started struggling and Trevor had to jump in quickly.
His phone was in his pocket.... Such a bummer.
We found a replacement phone for now (thanks grandpa!)
But I know he's sad. We tried rice and a few other things,
but we could not revive his poor phone.

Hayley had a bit of a crash too.
The girls bumped heads really hard and she has a little black eye.
Its hard to see in the picture above... and it for sure looked a lot worse today.
Poor girl!

We also had Piper's Kindergarten interview this week.
She went in to meet her new teacher, who is the sweetest EVER
and they talked about lots of things she knows and loves.
It was fun for me to watch her with her teacher and see that relationship start.
I'm so excited for her to start Kindergarten!
I think she is going to love it and do really well!

Hayley is really keeping me on my toes these days.
She's a bit of a climber, which is really new territory for me.
Piper never really figured that out.
Its a bit wild and busy and fun, but mostly chaos. haha

And lastly, I started my fall violin lessons this week.
I'm really loving all my sweet students and am excited for a few new things
that are happening this fall.
Its also been fun to have a new babysitter.
She's so sweet and my girls just LOVE her!
And I really love the extra help!

Friday Hike: Rock Canyon

This week we headed up Rock Canyon on our Friday hike.
I think a Friday hike is going to be our new summer tradition.
Its perfect!
Its the only morning I'm not teaching,
so it really works out!

We borrowed this baby hiking pack from our buddies.
I wanted to see if Hayley enjoyed it or not.
She was a fan, but she also walked a bunch too!

They are such cuties!
And this was so fun!

So we are looking for some fun kid-friendly hikes.
We will probably do Stewart Falls and the other popular ones,
but I still don't know of a lot of good hikes,
so let me know what are your favorites!

And if you ever want to join,
we would LOVE it!
Just shoot me a text and we will get it all set up!
We are interested in going to SLC too.

4th of July - and more!

We had a fun 4th of July!
Nothing really exciting, but we enjoyed being together as a family.

I took the week off of teaching, and the girls and I really enjoyed
the relaxing time and some extra play time.
And I found a sitter to help during my lessons, so I'm
really looking forward to that.

This weekend, we ran up to the canyon in Pleasant Grove
to see the giant flag.
And it really is GIANT!
It weighs almost 400 lbs and the stars are 5 feet tall.
It is beautiful and amazing!
I think they are taking it down sometime soon, so
run and go see it if you can.

It looks like its floating!!

We hope everyone enjoyed their holiday!!

little swimmers

The girls and I were SO ready for an outing after a week adjusting
to Trevor's new job.
So we headed up to Grandma Bonne's for a little swim.
It was fun to play and get out of the house for a little bit.
Hayley really loves the water, and Piper is getting a little more confident.

We really wore her out!

Piper has been helping Trevor make some flower boxes for me.
I'm really excited to see them all finished, but
I really love this face in those cute goggles!

And while we have been adjusting to our days being just the 3 of us,
we've had some craft times, and a few trips to the park.

We are having a fun summer!
But I am starting to feel like I'm losing my mind a little.
I don't like being the constant source of entertainment.
So, what do you other parents do with your kids in the summer?
Especially on the "down days" at home?
I am trying to find some other things for them to do on
their own so I can get a little down time.

And lessons... ugh violin lessons.
I REALLY love teaching SO much,
but it is tricky with Trevor gone now,
so I'm trying to find something or someone to help for a
few hours a week.
If you or someone you know might be interested in
an easy summer job, let me know!
I'd love to have some help!

That's about all from us this week!

Bye Provo... Hello again Orem

Over the weekend we said goodbye to our home in Oak Hills in Provo.
Its always hard to say goodbye.
But this time it was harder for us.
We've been in this home for 3 1/2 years, the longest we've ever lived
anywhere since Trevor and I got married.
We really grew to love the area and the people so much!
Our Aunt sold the home though so we had to go.

Now we are in Orem in a darling little home!
The girls have a big fenced-in backyard to play in and
we are really excited to be in a home that isn't filled with
lots of other people's things.

This is an adjustment for sure!
And moving was crazy, stressful, and exhausting.
Next time, I'm paying movers to do it.
I'm just too tired haha

We are optimistic and excited for our future here in this new place!
And even though we will miss our old neighborhood, we will
still be able to see our friends often.
It might take us 6 months to get settled. haha
but we really are excited!

The girls are sharing a room for the first time,
and that is giving us some trouble.
Its only been 2 nights, so I'm sure it will get better.
But if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know :)

I will share more photos of our new home when it isn't full
of boxes :)

Mother's Day - 2017

What a wonderful Mother's Day!
I had such a wonderful day full of family, yummy food, flowers,
and the usual chaos that comes with being a mom! haha

We were silly and took the girls to 2 Sacrament Meetings.
Not our greatest idea. haha
But we all survived.

We had a baby blessing for the newest little cousin on Trevor's side of the family.
He is SO sweet!
Little Hayley got in on the action and got to hold him for a bit.
She LOVED it and it was SO sweet!
She screamed for 10 minutes when we took him away.

It really was a wonderful day!
It had me thinking a lot about what a job motherhood is.
Every day has its special challenges and surprises.
And it really kinda never ends.
It can be so challenging to have little people who need you
for everything.
But in spite of all the hard things,
being a mom is a wonderful challenge!
I wouldn't trade it for anything!
I am not perfect at it, and the last few months have been a
really big struggle for me,
but I really hope my girls know how much I enjoy and love being their mom.
I adore them and am so lucky that Heavenly Father trusted me
with their sweet, spunky little spirits.

I'm not always the best at being a mom,
but I try every single day.
I think that's the most important part.
That we never stop trying.

I love these girls and the blessings they have brought to my life!

Girls!

We sure do love our girls!
They keep us busy and life is fun with them around.
Hayley is really a handful, but she's always cracking us up.

Moving 4 people is a lot more than 2 or 3.
Its crazy! Very crazy!
But we are so looking forward to a new adventure!

Easter 2017

We had such a great Easter with our family.
Piper is still recovering from her adventure
(read more here.)
So we kept it pretty simple.
And I wasn't feeling so great myself, so it was extra simple.
But perfect.

We went to our neighborhood egg hunt on Saturday morning.
Hayley wasn't too thrilled, but she warmed up to it!

On Sunday we went to Trevor's parent's house and enjoyed a nice dinner.
They hid some eggs for the girls and they enjoyed another little hunt.

And see that cute little guy up there!
I got to hang out with him for a while on Friday!
He's soooo cute and cuddly!
I totally want a bunny now!
But, that's beside the point.
This little guy was a model for me while I was learning some new
things in a photo studio.
More on that later!

And everyone wish Trevor luck!
He starts his new job this week!
